Default Database has to be overwritten for a formatting change? - 10-19-2006 , 01:19 PM

I have a SSAS2005 cube in production and I need to make a change ...changing
the format of a measure.

This is the only change I need to make. The version I'm editing in .NET is
exactly the same compared with production with the only differences being
all the new partitions created in production and the new format in
development. We create partitions hourly and daily so in production we have
hundreds of partitions.

I tried to deploy the project, and I get a message saying the database will
be overwitten since the version is different. My concern is that the entire
database needs to overwritten for a formatting issue.

How can I make the change in format without having to process the entire
database over again?

I have the same issue on our production cubes.
Any suggestions?
