Default Data Mining in SSAS 2005 - 09-05-2006 , 11:30 PM

I have been reading the book "Applied Microsoft Analysis Services 2005"
by Teo Lachev and I believe it is a pretty good book. There are lots
of good examples in there based on his previous books, Adventure works
and other people as well.

One thing I have just started to play around with is Data Mining. When
using Analysis Services 2000 I never really explored it much, didn't
seem like much was there. Now I find there are lots of things to
discover in 2005.

So I have been working through some examples trying to create a sales
forecast. However every time I try to process this I get an error.

Internal error: An unexpected error occurred (file
'dmcorrcountutils.cpp', line 2045, function
'DMCC_WorkerJobCaseProcessor::CacheCase').

This seems a little more like a bug inside SSAS than an error with my
design. I can't find anything on the web regarding this issue so i
figured I needed to post it.

This happens on a dev box that is a 32bit processor, 2 GB RAM, running
Windows 2003 Server, with SQL 2005 Standard Edition

I have put it on a 64bit quad processor box with 16GB of RAM running
Windows 2003 64bit and using SQL 2005 x64 Enterprise Edition.

Both servers result in the same error message, anyone got a clue what
this means?

This might be a known issue. Are you seeing this with a mining model based
on an OLAP cube? Please post your response, including the mining model
definition, to the Data Mining MSDN forum
(http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/sho...d=81&siteid=1).
