Default data for measure shows incorrect value - 12-20-2004 , 09:38 AM

I have a measure in the cube which uses aggregate
function "distinct count", the source column of the
measure is from the fact table.

The total value at default level of the dimension is the
correct value but when slice at any dimension shows
incorrect value at the lower level but the total count at
the top most level stays the same. When I try to add up
the lower level count it does not match to the top level.

Any help would really be appreciated!!!

Thanks,

The drill-down components of a "distinct count" measure don't
necessarily add up to the parent value, since some distinct values may
be present in multiple children. Do you have specific data examples (you
can use SQL distinct count on the fact table to verify whether there is
a problem)?
