Default Cube Size - 10-03-2006 , 02:39 PM

Hi:

A couple of questions about cube size:

1. How do I tell the current size of a cube after doing a full process
off of the underlying data?

2. How do I estimate the cube size based on anticipated size of the
underlying database?

Thanks,
Kayda

to see what is the current real size, take a look at the metadata
in AS2000 you have the information directly available on the right side
with AS2005 you have to open the property pages of a cube or partition to
see the current size.

in both version you can see the total size of the data folder using the
explorer

to estimate its difficult, there is no simple formula because the size
depend on how your data are spread in the cube.
so the density of the cube.

but based on your current cube size versus source size, you can create your
own prediction.
