Default Cube Processing Failure - no error message - 09-24-2004 , 12:34 PM

In the last month, some of the cubes in a cube database
have been failing to process, while other cubes in the
database process. This is run every day on a schedule by
a DTS package. The Analysis Server is not sending an
error message to the DTS package.
When I use Analysis Manager and choose "process database",
the same thing happens: The database processes through
the cube where it has been stopping and then
says "completed successfully". I have to go into the
database and process the individual cubes one at a time in
order to get them processed. When I do this, they process
successfully.
Why might this suddenly be failing?
What are appropriate correction steps?
Has anyone else experienced this?

Are there any entries in the system-wide processing log file?

Thank you Dave. I have turned on Process logging and will
see what it tells me in the next couple of days. Will
post another reply when I have any definitive information.

Thank you again Dave!

The processing log looked like the Analysis Server was
having thread swapping errors, it would just seems to
forget to pick up a thread again. I had turned on some
budget season processing about a month ago. I am guessing
that once it lost a thread, it's memory thought that was
the way it was supposed to work. I had gotten an Out of
Memory error about a month ago also when the cubes would
not process manually, but we were thinking it was the
server - we had installed IIS to test a software product.
We uninstalled IIS and the software product at that time.

I have gone through and gotten rid of any unused
dimensions and test cubes. I have split the long
processing databases where possible and I have mapped the
automatic database processing and adjusted the schedules
so that there is no overlap.

We have gotten successful processing all weekend and this
morning.
