Default crash on connect - 09-16-2005 , 12:38 PM






hey i've crashed my olap server twice when i connect from my laptop

any ideas what it could be?

i swear, i have sp4 on sql and olap on both sides

First, you need to get those crashes to PSS. Possibily one of the PSS
On-line engineers will see this posting and tell you how to do that. If you
have a PSS support contract, you should get them to your TAM (Technical
Account Manager) as soon as possible.

Other than that, it is difficult to figure out what is happening (other than
it shouldn't be). Certainly not just doing a remote connection.

If you look in the bugs fixed in SP4, you will see that we've had several
bugs lately with corrupted dimensions. So I think the first thing I'd do is
to do a full process of your dimensions to proactively attempt to see if an
corruption is fixed.

But the most important part is to get the minidumps to us so we can identify
and *fix* the problem.

thanks dave it stopped happening.. dont know what caused it; but it
sure happened 3 times in one day
