Default Correlation & regression - 11-11-2003 , 01:18 AM

Does anyone know how to create a prediction/forecast
using MDX and the LINREGxxx (linregpoint) functions?

I would like to predict the next month sales after 12
months which will result in forecating the 1 of the next
year.

Using calculated member or any other sample are welcome.

Guy

Hi Guy,

Have a look at:

Hi,
Thanks for this reply,
I knew about that page (kb).

The problem with this is the level of explanation.
It's not enough and the result are not close to what we
should expect. How to explain the result and why it's so
off. We are looking for other type of correlation also.
not only linear.

If you have any idea where to get some more explaination,
we will thankfull.

I would suggest trying the SoftPro Manager 4.0
(evaluation copy is available on download).
It has Forrcasting Analysis (included in Trend and Master Trend Analysis)
with two possibilities either linear regression method or periodical
(weighted or non weighted) method.
In addition you can even select one or more time sequences used as a
base for forrcasting.
And, by the way, it is also one of the very few
certified tools available on the market
today(MS DWA member).
You can get more details on the www.softpro.hr
site
