Default copying AS physical folers/files to another server - 04-01-2004 , 03:30 PM

Greetings, If I copy the physical AS folders and files from one server to
another AS server, how can I get the cubes to be recognized?

Thanks in advance
John

You can't. What you are trying to do is inherently dangerous since the
repository no longer matches the data folder.

See the backup/restore section of the AS Operations Guide
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro.../anservog.mspx
When using file-copy backup/restore, you must do the entire AS data folder
and the respository as a single unit.
