Hi Susannah
One possibility could be that the structure of your large cube is quite
complex, like many aggregations per partition for instance, or complex role
definitions maybe?
Since Analysis Manager relies on DSO, and DSO translates into SQL
instructions executed against the OLAP repository, large and complex
structures may result in lots of updates to the repository.
With this in mind, other paremeters could impact the performance of a cube
copy/paste, like: OLAP repository server (SQL Server scales better than
Access!), network bandwidth, server memory, etc.
Does this make sense in your context?
Olivier.

When I copy and paste a cube it should only be copying
the structure. However, a large cube (over 1 Gig) is
taking hours to paste to a new server. Why is this
occuring if it is only copying the structure and not the
data?
Thanks in advance! |
