Default Connection problems across domains - 05-04-2005 , 12:08 AM

Has anyone run across Undefined Errors happening when a user (part of Domain
"A") tries to connect to a MSAS server in Domain "B"? If I try to connect
to the same MSAS server from a machine in a workgroup, everything's fine.
When I try and connect to a MSAS server in a workgroup it's fine, but I
can't go domain to domain. Any ideas? I REALLY don't want to have to have
the two domain controllers talk to each other.

Thanks-
Malcolm

Look at the Security Administration section of the AS Operations Guide
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro.../anservog.mspx
We cover that topic in great detail. Warning: You won't like the answer ;-(

Here's our situation... We are a data warehouse and have a domain
controller here and we're trying to build cubes that our customers (from
their sites with whatever domain controller they might have) can access over
the internet. Is there a middle layer that will allow this? Is it XMLA?
Also, since we're in R&D right now, Yukon keeps coming up and I'm wondering
if it would be better just to jump to that?

Thank you-
Malcolm

Did you look at the white paper? Besides http access, we listed several
approaches for non-trusted domain access.
