AS Connection problem on "identical" servers -

I have a weird problem right now.
I have 2 Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition servers running. Both are
running SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition with SP 3a, Analysis Services 2000
sp 3a and Reporting Services.
One is installed on VMWare, the other is installed as more or less a
duplicate on a HP server.
The same AD users are added as OLAP administrators. The
MSSQLServerOLAPService is running as the same user. The same users are added
in the Database roles section, one of them being Everyone. And still, I can
only access one of them, the one that was installed on VMWare.
My computer is running the same OS and SQL Server 2000 Ent. ed. sp 3a + AS.
My comp is not in the same domain as the other two. I'm running VPN. I've
actually been a bit surprised that I was able to connect to the first
server, that running Standard Edition, not Enterprise Edition. I'm able to
connect to the SQL Server on both server through Enterprise Manager.
When I try to log on to the new server through Analysis Manager, I get this
error:
Cannot open connection to Analysis Server '<servername>'.
Error in data [Possible data corruption]"
Any suggestions about what settings I might have missed? What I should turn
on or off?
All help appreciated!
