Is there anything special that has to be set up in order to register a remote MSAS server? When I installed Analysis Services, my Analysis Manager automatically registered the local MSAS Server (and also added the Foodmart Data Source). Now I need to connect the MSAS server that is on the same box as MS Project Server (to create CUBES for MSP Server Portfolio Analyzer). I tried specifying the name of the box (since MSAS 2000 doesn't use named instances). I also entered the IP address of the remote box. Neither works. Do certain permissions need to be added to the (Win 2003) box that the server is on for me to connect? Is there some kind of Authentication involved (no userid or password was asked for -- only the name of the remote MSAS server). Thanks |

Hey, Make sure that your user belongs to the OLAP Administrators group on the server you are trying to connect to Jerry B wrote: Is there anything special that has to be set up in order to register a remote MSAS server?
