Default Connecting Olap from client machine - 11-07-2005 , 01:32 AM






Hi All,

I have Analysis services installed on one of my SQL server. I have sql
client installed on my desktop. I need to connect to Analysis services from
client.

What I need to install on my machine to connect to Analysis services which
is on another machine.

You need to install the client components in your local PC to access the
Analysis Server.

Is that same like installing sql client?
Do I need to install Analysis manager? Is that possible?

You need to install Ole DB provider for Analysis Services on the client
side.

For AS 2000 you need ptslile.exe
For AS 2005 you need SQLServer2005_ASOLEDB9.msi
