Hi,

I try to connect to a SQL 2000 Analysis server, in order to upgrade my olap
database with an upgrade project in Visual Studio. But it doesn't find my
2000 server. Also from SQL2005 Mgt Studio it doesn't find it.

Connecting to SQL 2000 database server works fine, so I think all firewall
issues are no longer relevant.

If there is another way to upgrade my 2000 cubes to 2005 that would also be
good.

Any suggestions will be very welcome!

Run Migration Wizard from SQL Management Studio to migrate your AS2000
databases to AS2005.
You will need to re-process your cubes after migrating.

That is what I was trying to do, but for some reason It cannot find the other
SQL Server which has the AS2000 database.

Check if you can connect remotely to your AS2000 from Analysis Manager
installed on another machine.
If remote connection will succeed from Analysis Manger, try to repair your
AS2005 installation.

You cannot manage or directly connect to Analysis Services 2000 from any
of the AS 2005 management tools. All you can do from the AS 2005 tools
is to migrate a database from an existing AS 2000 server.

From BOL:
You can start the Migration Wizard from an Analysis Services server node
in the Object Browser in SQL Server Management Studio. You can also
start the wizard at the command prompt, by running the program
MigrationWizard.exe.
