Had three indepent dimensions....on two of these indepent dimensions I had
levels - meta data:

450 members, Dim1, Levels 1-3 (including the dimension code)
4200 members, Dim2, No levels
750 members, Dim3, Levels 1-2 (indluding the dimension code)

We had some performance problems throwing these three into a cross tab in
the front end that we are using (but not
with owc - looks like owc just fetches the top level ... where as the other
front end tried to get at a lower levell?)

However - we've tried to make a conjoint dimension....think its called that
..... a dimension where i have
the exact combinations that are used of the above.

Using an sql distinct sentence i was able to create such a dimension....this
dimension has a table on the lowest level:

Dim1, Level 1
Dim2, Level 1
Dim3, Level 1
Dim1DimDim3 - code (used to map to the fact)

And I didn't do anything with the other levels in the relational
environment....just took this new conjoint table and in
the dimension editor i mapped it to the tables for the other levelse so I
now have a dimension with this structure:

Dim3, Level 2
Dim1, Level 3
Dim 1, Level 2
Dim 1, Level 1
Dim 2, Level 1
Dim 3, Level 1

There 18000 members totally but when using it it performs a LOT quicker and
I have a hierachy that is locked corresponding to the desires of the
customer.

Have tested the numbers and it looks okay...should I be aware of something
else ?
