Default command line archive cab file size is different - 07-13-2005 , 10:39 AM

Hi

The can file if I archive thru msmdarch.exe ( using a batchfile) is
only 8 KB but when I do archive data using the Analysis Manager GUI
tool the cab file size is 7 MB. This database has 2 cubes and each cube
has partitions. Am I missing something ?

Thanks

Ragu

That is WAY too big of a difference and 8KB is too small for any real data
so I am suspicious if the 8KB is a good backup. The first thing I would
check is to see if the parameters to the msmdarch are correct. You may be
archiving empty space :-)
