Default Cognos - 09-02-2004 , 12:21 AM

I have just seen a demo of Cognos PowerPlay and ReportNet. Is it as
powerful and user friendly as it looks?

if you talk about the web interface, then Cognos is a good.
but Cognos doesn't support all AS features when you use Cognos in front of
AS cubes.(like write back, actions...)
Look at Proclarity and Novaview to view the better OLAP frontend tool on the
market (frontend for AS) (Its my point of view) and compare these tools to
Cognos.

creating a cube with cognos instead-of AS is somewhat different.
If you have complex calculation in your cube and complex security, then keep
AS.
Cognos doesn't support MDX queries, so you can't create "complex" calculated
measures and calculated members.
