Default Client Front-end for browsing cubes/mining models - 11-08-2005 , 01:48 PM

From what I understand, Analysis Services is a development platform for
building cubes and models. Once I build these things, what software can users
use to browse and analyze the data? I know you can use Excel Pivot tables but
are there other tools anyone is aware of that are good and don't cost 6
figures?--

At my workplace, we use a product called ProClarity. I don't know how
much it costs though.

Maybe you could have a look at the following tools:
-- BI Portal (Not suported by Microsoft but does a pretty good job) Uses OWC
-- Reporting Services (comes with SQL Server)
-- Business Scorecard Manager

Take a look at Matrix from DataJungle...Powerful and much cheaper and easier
to implement than alternatives.

If you would like some assistance with ProClarity, I am happy to help.

Check out SQL Server Reporting Services, Create Report Model using Cube
(AS)database and Client side use Report Builder. Cost you $0

RS2005 required, this feature doesn't exists in RS2000

its a good tool, but the interface is a reporting interface, not a
navigation and data exploration tool (like the pivottable do)
