Default Cheap Cube Viewer - 05-18-2004 , 10:56 AM

Does anyone know of a good, easy to use and fairly robust Cube Viewer other
than pivot table services?
Chuck

PTS is not a cube viewer. It is the data access layer. In fact, it is an
OLEDB provider.

From MSFT, with MS Office license, there is two options included Office Web
Components (an ActiveX control) and native Excel pivot tables.

Due to RTW the first week in June, there is the MS Excel Addin for Reporting
(which is an OLAP client) see
(http://www.microsoft.com/office/solu...s/default.mspx) -- it
will be available as a free download, but you must have an Office license to
use MS Excel.

Hi Chuck,

If you are looking for a web based solution you can use the "Analysis
Services Thin Web Client Browser" that is on the CD that comes with the SQL
Server 2000 Resource Kit.

You can find some more OLAP clients here:

Or you could try the BIP - however it is an un-supported version with some
flaws.

There is also a link for this on Mosha's site.

Personally I'm anxious to see what microsoft has in store for us in
june...just like a little child before christmas...why can't I open the
package now ?

There is also Intellibrowser from Hungry Dog, I think, software, in
Florida. It is about $100 per head.
