Default Cell Security Administrators - 10-06-2005 , 07:02 AM

Is it possible to enforce cell security for users who are OLAP
Administrators on the Analysis Services server. Adding OLAP
administrators to the role does not work.

Any Ideas?

Regards

Andy

Unfortunately No. OLAP Administrators automatically have full access. There
is not way to turn this off.

However, there is a registry setting you can set in SP4 which limits
Administrators to not automatically become OLAP Administrators. See the SP4
readme. Of course, a machine administrator could add him or herself to the
OLAP Administrators group manually, but at least you then have an audit
trail of it.
