Cant Start MssqlOlapService

Default Cant Start MssqlOlapService - 02-11-2004 , 02:36 AM






I Tried to change the log on user for the services from a domain user to
local system account, when i start the service i get an error "error 5 :access denied"
i get the same error when i tried to use the local administrator.
what reason can be for this problem
cant access to..??? - Which directory

Very strange that Local System couldn't access these objects. You said
"Local Administrator" -- did you try LocalSystem?

There are several possibilities here. It could be to the OLAP Server
registry hive at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OLAP Server\
Or it could be to the bin and other files from the installation folder
(typically at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services.
Or it could be to the data folder (typically at C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Analysis Services\Data).
Or it could be some other resource/dll that the msmdsrv services needs.
