We are just upsized an Access database to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (latest
version IS supports) and wanted to look at using Analysis Services and cube
technology. Wanted to go through Analysis Services 2000 Tutorial and have a
problem with the DSN. I'm working on a client workstation and have no
problem registering server databases show for the FoodMart 2000 and our live
database. I'm able to setup new database for tutorial and the system data
source connection as described in tutorial. I can test the connection and
I'm able to view data under the Tutorial database. Problem is when I try to
process cube under Tutorial. I get error message about "Data source name not
found and no default driver specified". Our IT department is new to Analysis
Services and have no suggestions on why I'm getting this error message.
Seems like DSN needs to be setup on server but don't know if that's right and
how to do from my client sorkstation. Thanks for any help or suggestions.
