Default Cannot connect to AS2005 from Excel 2003 - 07-13-2006 , 06:04 AM

When I attempt to import data from AS2005 to Excel 2003 using the
import data wizard or the pivot table wizard, I get the error "XML for
Analysis parser: The LocaleIdentifier property is not overwriteable and
cannot be assigned a new value."

Has anyone seen this error? I tried reinstalling the OLE DB Provider
for Analysis Services 9.0 but this did not fix the problem.

I can connect using ProClarity and IntelligentApps from the same
machine. Just not from Excel.

as far as i know You have to install the SQLServer2005_ASOLEDB9.msi AND the
Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0 (msxml6.msi) on the clients. This
works for me to connect to AS 2005 with Excel 2003 (both
installer-files for x86-systems)

maybe this will help
