Default Cannot connect to the Analysis server on remote computer - 01-16-2006 , 03:07 PM

Hello,

When I try to connect to Analysis Server on a remote computer from my
desktop computer I get the message "Cannot connect to the Analysis server on
computer 'ntprod1' . The connection with the server is lost".

Has anyone got any idea of what is happening?

Additional information:

Remote computer:

OS: Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition Service Pack 1 (Domain
Controller)

Analysis Server: version 8.00.2039 (Service Pack 4)

Desktop computer:

OS: Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2

Analysis Server: version 8.00.2039 (Service Pack 4)

The Desktop computer belongs to the Remote computer domain.

The account used by the Desktop computer to log on the domain is a member of
the OLAP Administrators Group.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Djair Pacheco.

Hi Djair,

I assume you try to connect using with Analysis Manager.

Although the error you get doesn't point to this, you may check the
"INF: Permissions That You Must Have to Administer an OLAP Server"
article: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;231951
..

Kind regards,

Eugen
