Hello, I am working on SQL 2005 Reporting Services to build Report Models. Using the BIDS Tool for SQL 2005, I can prepare Report Models with underlying Sources as Relational Data Sources. However I need to connect to an OLAP Data Source and build the Report Model with Cubes as the Underlying Data Source. Currently when I try to make a New Data Source in a BIDS Report Model Project, with the Data Source GUI resulting in the Connection String Provider=MSOLAP.3;Data Source=passport;Integrated Security=SSPI;Initial Catalog=Adventure Works DW The OK button is disabled because of an Error message displayed at the bottom which reads: References to the 'OLAP Provider' Provider are not valid in this context. I can build the Report Model directly using the Report Manager. Steps: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro.../2005ssrs.mspx Is it possible to use OLAP Sources and generate the Report Model in BIDS as a Report Model Project? Please help. Regards, Sumit Pilankar. |
