Default Can a virtual cube inherit calculated cells from underlying cubes *without* importing? - 09-04-2004 , 06:54 AM

Hi,

I can create calculated cells in a cube and they behave as required.
I can then create a virtual cube based on the original cube, and
ideally I would like queries against the virtual cube to respect
(i.e. inherit) the effects of the calculated cells in the original
cube. Is this possible or configurable, because it doesn't seem to
work that way for me today...

I should add that I know I cam import the calculated cells into the
virtual cube from the original cube, and that works fine. My concern
is if someone else creates a virtual cube, forgets to import the
calculated cells, and then sees incorrect results. I'm trying to
reduce the possibility of errors; I may be asking too much! :-)

Cheers,
Koan

Hi Koan,

From your descirptions, I understood that you would like to query based on
virtual cube and calculated cells. Have I understood you? If there is
anything I misunderstood, please feel free to let me know.

Based on my scope, you could not do that until you import calculated cells
into virtual cube.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any questions or
concerns, don't hesitate to let me know. We are here to be of assistance!

Sincerely yours,
