If so, will you please give me the steps to do it. I am running an named
instance of DB server (Sql server 2000), to which I am able to create a
datasource, data source views, cubes and dimensions. Only when I tried to
deploy and process I get the following error.

"The project could not be deployed to the 'machinename' server because of
the following connectivity problems : A connection cannot be made to
redirector. Ensure that 'SQL Browser' service is running. To verify or
update the name of the target server, right-click on the project in Solution
Explorer, select Project Properties, click on the Deployment tab, and then
enter the name of the server."

I followed the directions, but not successful.

I am a bit unclear. Are you trying to *manage* an AS2K system from BI Dev
Studio or are you trying to create a data source against a SQL2K RDBMS data
source?

The first one is not possible. You have to use Analysis Manager to
administer a AS2K system. BI Dev Studio is for AS2K5 only.

The later one should work OK. I've done it myself from time to time. Can you
be more specific about your configuration?
