All the responses are much appreciated. I am able to connect to Analysis Services 2005 by using windows domain account. I just need to know that is there any other way to connect to Analysis Services 2005 like we have SQL Login account in SQL Server? Thanks, Deepak Vij |

no, AS2005 only use Windows Accounts. these accounts can be local account or domain based accounts. if your users are remotly connected or if the server is standalone, the users could access the cubes through the XML/A / HTTP protocol. in this case, the user will be asked for a login/password. So you can create 1 specific login / password which is different from the user login / password. a direct connection to the cubes (without HTTP) required a valid windows user account, the simple way is to use a domain, the other option is to create the SAME login/password for each user on the AS server. if your domain account (or local account on the computer if there is no domain) id <domain>\toto / pwd= password if you create an account on the standalone server <server>\toto / pwd = pasword, then you can access this AS server directly without any problem.
