Default Can dimension/measure "names" be translated to another language? - 04-07-2004 , 05:45 PM

Hello,

I have a BI repository where all the dimension and measure
names on the cubes where named in Spanish (I am
CostaRican, you see) but now the company I work for is
planning to do a demo to english-speaking customers and
they've asked me if it is possible to "translate" all
those names and descriptions to english, french or some
other language, in a relatively easy way.

I must admit that I've been working with SQL Server for
only about 6 months, so I'm not an expert.

I would greatly appreciate any help you could give me.
Thanks,
--Oswaldo.

Hi Oswaldo,

Which frontend are you using to show the cubes on the net?

If you are using Panorama NovaView BI, you are able not only to
translate the frontend in any lanquaqe you want but also the metadata
of the cube as well.

The enduser only have to make the decision to show in english, dutch,
french, spanish, italian, etc..

On our website (www.gmsbv.nl) you can see this feature working over
the internet. If you would like to use this feature also on your own
data we have a trial available for u, please let me know if
interested.

Regards,
Marco

Hello,

We're currently using MS Excel (Office XP) to connect to
the cubes and view the data. What I'd like to do is
something simple, really.

Any solution to that?

Thank you,
--oswaldo.
