Default calculated member caption - 08-09-2004 , 05:25 AM

I create a calculated member but the name doesn't show in the column or row
header in the data view. Does anyone know why?

Hi

First check on which dimension you've created the calc member.
If it's not on Measures then chances are that your member is somewhere on a
slicer dimension on top of the browser.
Also, if the syntax you use in your calculation is incorrect then the member
will not show in the standard MS AS cube browser view.

I create the member on a Time dimension. I drag the Time dimension to be
displyed on the columns. I can see the extra column but the header is empty.
Even if I put in a fixed value in the calculation field I cannot see the
header but the cells display the value OK.

Check the syntax of the calculated member. If it says the syntax is
OK, save the same and u'll see the member in the data view of the cube
where u created the calc. member.

There is nothing wrong with the syntax. I see the value in the cells, but the
column header does not display the name of the calculated member.
