Is there any MDX syntax that will allow me to browse a
dimensions data without having to build a cube for the
dimension? I'm looking for functionality similar to what
you get in Analysis Manager when you browse a dimensions
data in the Dimension Editor.

Hello Chris,
Unfortunatly there is no syntax to browse a dimension in the current version
of Analysis Services. Analysis Manager has pretty complex code, that bulds
local cube with single dimension based on the real dimension and setting
connection string property to generate Sample data.
