Hi
I am just starting out on OLAP and I was wondering if anyone had any
recommendations on Books for reading?

Kind Regards

I found "Analysis Server Step by Step" a good introduction.

Some good books on OLAP and Analysis Services

1. Kimball, Ralph und Ross, Margy. "The Data
Warehouse Toolkit: The Complete Guide to Dimensional
Modeling". Wiley & Sons. 2nd ed. 2002.

2. Kimball, Ralph, Laura Reeves et.al. "The Data
Warehouse Lifecycle Toolkit : Expert Methods for
Designing, Developing, and Deploying Data Warehouses",
John Wiley & Sons,1998

3. Jacobson, Reed. "Microsoft SQL Server 2000
Analysis Services Step by Step", Microsoft Press,2000

4. Spofford, George. "MDX Solutions: With Microsoft
SQL Server Analysis Services". Wiley & Sons. New York,
2001.

Cheers,
Sanka

I recommend before jumping into AS to have a fundamental understanding of
data marts and design. This link will take you to a slew of articles by My.
Kimball.

That was supposed to be "Mr." Kimball not "my" Kimball, sounds kinda funny
the other way

Thanks chaps, for the input. Whilst looking on Amazon, I was surprised by
the lack of books available , and some were very old, mainly catering for
SQL7.0.......

Are they getting reading for SQL2003 ??
