Default BizTalk and Analysis Services Aggregations - 12-29-2003 , 05:49 PM

Hi all,

Question-
I came across BizTalk server that can create Aggregations for Analysis
Services.

Has anyone else seen this?
This seems Microsoft'sanswer to BAM (Business Activity Monitoring) -
much hyped by Gartner.

Wondering if anyone has evaluated it - if so - what's your opinion.
Is this something promising?
I doubt it'll be matured yet - since it's new. But worth asking about.

Thanks.

I attended a .NET SIG presentation on BizTalk 2004 earlier this month
that described the Business Activity Services, and the presenter
confirmed that Analysis Services is used.
The MSDN website touches on the BizTalk BAM framework:

The Business Activity Monitoring Framework

It’s not hard to think of different ways that an information worker
might want to look at a business process. A purchasing manager might
need to see how many POs are approved and denied each day, for instance,
while a sales manager might want an hourly update on what products are
being ordered. Meeting these diverse needs requires a general framework
for tracking what’s going on with a particular business process. This is
exactly what the Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) Framework provides.
