Default BIP - will it run on Server 2003 ? - 01-23-2004 , 08:01 AM

SQL Server 2000 is intended to run on a Server operating system. BIP (Business Intelegence Portal) is intended as a front end to SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services. But
1. Installing SQL Server 2000 on Server 2003, tells you that it is not supported for SP2 and below. Seems silly as you have to install it first before you can apply the SP
2. BIP in http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...tml/odc_bip.as
This is not updated to say if this is supported or no in Office 2003 or in Server 2003. It requires SQLXML, which in the readme file says it can be run on various Windows Operating systems, none of which are Server Systems

Conclusion, Can someone tell me if BIP is supported on Server 2003 with Office 2003 and with SQL Server 2000 SP3
If so, what files eg SQLXML (and what version of this) are also needed. So far I have not been able to get this to work.

I've had it running on Server 2003 with sp3 of sql, and AS. If you have an
MSDN subscription you should be able to download an sp3 build of SQL Server.
I have Office 2003 also and the OWC components run fine in the BIP
environment. You need (from memory) sp3 of the SQLXML components.

What is causing it not to work?
