Default BIP software - 04-05-2005 , 09:26 AM

Hello,

I have a customer who has a BIP (Business Intelligence Portal) version
2.1.7. They need me to add some features to it. I am desperately trying to
install BIP 2003 version 1.0.002 here, to have a local version of the
software so I could play a bit with it.

I did all the necessary software installation, as it was said in the
requirements - Windows 2000 Server with SP4, SQL server with SP2, AS server
with the latest SP, .NET framework, etc. However, when I install the
software by launching the BIP_2003_V1_0_002.msi file, it fails in the
installation with this error message:

Title: SiteDefinitionInstaller.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging
Services
Msg: Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=0x6dc (1756), Thread id=0x6d8 (1752)
[Ok] [Cancel]

After this, installation detects failure and uninstalls anything that was
copied onto the HDD until the error event.

I can't think of what I could do to avoid this error. Perhaps someone on
this forum could help out? I'd be greatly thankful.

Thanks,

Pavils

Hi,

This is not the solution for your problem. But Why are you not using
the great ReportPortal ?

We have a free 60 days trial for you: www.gmsbv.nl /

I don't really see how that answers my question. I husee my problem is that
BIP 2003 version is way much more demanding in terms of server software than
the version 2.1.0, that is older an not presently available for download
online.

I am using BIP because my customer has installed it before engaging with me.
I am not about to migrate all his customisation to a new solution. However,
I will check on your suggested software, to be informed when another OLAP
project would come into my pipeline.

Rgds,

Pavils
