Default BI Portal user authentication - 11-14-2003 , 10:21 AM

Hi. I am able to install BI Portal successfully, but if i
try to connect to http://severname/bip from a client
machine, I get an error message

"Unable to process Query
- the <database name> does not exist"

If the user is added to 'OLAP admin group', I do not get
the above error message and BI portal works fine. Does it
mean that all the user who want to connect to BI Portal
views have be member of OLAP admin group?

Any help would be greatly apprecited

Lakshya

Definitely not!
You should define security roles for each cube. I these
roles, define the rights each user has. Access should
work then. Also make sure that the PTS version on the
client machine is the correct one.

Under no circumstances grant OLAPAdmin rights to users. -
Unless the user is meant to be an OLAP Administrator.
