I installed the MS BI Portal and can access the main startup screen. If I try to do a New > Folder, though, I don't get a prompt for a folder name; instead part of the "BI Portal" header gets shows on the screen where I'd expect to enter a file name. Without folders, I guess you can't do anything, right? I'm assuming that I have some permissions set incorrectly, but which ones? Anyone else have this problem? |

I had similar problems, until realising that we had SQLXML 3.0 SP2 installed; BIP really seems to want SQLXML 3.0 SP1. My own personal gripe is that he installer assumes that you're installing on a case-insensitive server, and the SQL is coded such that it will break if installed on a case-sensitive server. The time I spent unpacking the msi, making the SQL case-sensitive consistent, and packaging up a new msi surely exceeded the time spent in being case-consistent with names in the first place... :-) Cheers, -- Use Reply-To address or replace deadspam with hotmail |
