Default BI Accellerator without Excel - 04-17-2005 , 12:23 PM

After using the BI Accel. Excel spreadsheet to create the DTS insert/update
scripts, it is possible to deploy to a server that does not have Excel loaded?

Thanks,
Bill

The PAG (on-line documentation that ships with SSABI) discusses the steps
you use to deploy the various components *after* you have generated an
application.

Thanks. Yes, I have read the deployment section of the docs regarding the
"Installing and Configuring the BI Accelerator."

But my question is, can it be deployed without having to have Excel loaded?
The installer will not run if it does not detect Excel.

Is there a way to manually register objects, create directories and copy
files to a production server that will not be used for cube design and
modifcation?

Thanks,
Bill

See the section titled "Migrating the Analytical Application"
The sequence of things is:
1) installing the BI Accelerator
2) generating the analytical application
3) then migrating the analytical application onto production machines.

Thank you Dave. I stopped reading one page too soon.
