Hi,

I need to calculate the average value of a measure for the year to date
period. for example if I have sold a total of 100 items YTD then I would
like to show the average sold for each day

Can anyone help me with the MDX for this.

YTD and average are two different measurements. Are you saying you want a
conditional average done based upon a YTD value? I'm not sure I understand
the question.

I use the phrase YTD because to calculate the total items sold over this
period I can simply use the YTD function on my measure. In fact a use the
YTD function tied to a dummy dimension to allow a YTD calculation to be
applied across all my measures
