The data folder can only be changed in Analysis Manager if you run it on
the server itself. You will need to restart the service after you change
this setting. For as little downtime as possible you can copy the data
folder to its new location first. Then change the setting and stop and
start the service. Once you have confirmed that all the cubes are
operational you can delete the original data folder.
Of course it is a good idea to make sure you have current backups before
doing this - just in case.

I'd like to move my data folder. What are the proper steps to doing this? I
know there's a property in the UI to change the location, however that's
grayed out. Also, are any reg settings needed to be changed? Does it require
a reboot or just a restart of the service?
Thank you! |
