Default AS2000 - Dynamic Security ate up all A/S memory - 06-23-2006 , 08:24 AM

We have a survey application that relies on Dynamic Security to control
what data managers can see. We have just one role that executes MDX to
control access. It restricts access to a managers' hierarchy
structure. They can see above them and below them in the hierarchy,
but they cannot see other hierarchies.

The survey results were released and several hundred managers went to
view their data. The memory usage soared and people could not even get
into the cube. The memory remained high as users logged off. We had to
bounce the server to get back memory. Processing the database also
frees up the memory.

We cannot use this technology as it is. We have several thousand
managers that we wanted to deploy this tool to. Should we abandon the
idea of using a cube for this? The cube allows managers to view the
data in various ways, but if they can't get into the cube it doesn't do
much good. Does anyone know if this is fixed with AS2005? Does
anyone have any suggestions for me to help this situation?
