I've got a client that I will be implementing a data warehousing
solution for (consists of a relational database and an OLAP cube) -
they are currently running SP3 on both SS2K & SS2KAS. I've suggested
that they upgrade to SP4 on both SS2K & SS2KAS to take advantage of the
memory and performance improvements - they have reservations with doing
the upgrade, since there are other SS2K apps running on the server and
they don't want to invest the time for testing at this point.

How does SQL Server deal with having Analysis Services SP4 running with
SQL Server SP3? Any issues or concerns?

Oops...the title of this post should say "Analysis Services SP4 with
SQL Server SP3".

I beleive I have answered this question before on this newsgroup. But
anyhow:
You should have any problem with Analysis Services SP4 accessing SQL Server
SP3. Or SP2.. Or SQL Server 2005 or Oracle ...
For Analysis Services it doesnt really matter the service pack of the
relational database it connects to.

Should be no problem. But please take a look if this configuration is
possible at all.
You have to check if setup even allows you to keep SSAS and SS of different
SP level.
