Default Analysis Services Manager defect?! - 10-15-2003 , 10:40 AM

Hi all,
quick question. We have a productive Analysis Server.
Last time I checked everything was allright.
Today I checked again. AS is still working, but for some
reason the AS manager is dysfuntional.

Cube editor and dimension editor as well as cube
information do not show any more. The dimension editor
says sth. like "could not load panel xyz version
outdated".

As always everybody says he didn't change a thing.

Any clue as to what might be the reason? Maybe someone
had this happen before. Do we need to reinstall AS?

TIA Lutz

Is this happening on all of your cubes?
If you register the server from a different workstation, can you edit the
cube?

The cubes are okay I guess. They can be accessed by
clients allright.
As to AS manager:
Yes, I cannot edit any cube or any of it's dimensions. I
also cannot look at the cube stats. All I get is a white
subscreen with a flawed double heading. (seems like some
Html- Element is damaged.

I have no other workstation at hand, since it is a client
site which I access remotely. But i assume yes, since all
cubes can be accessed programmatically.

TIA Wei,
Lutz

P.S.: I guess we'll just reinstall the client and be good.

Yes, no cube or dimension can be altered.

I assume so (no way to test it). I can query all
the cubes.

Sounds like a resource file of AM has been corrupted.
Do you have SP3 applied? If so, re-run the SP3 setup, hopeful it will fix
any damaged files.

Thanks

Thanks Wei.
Yes we have SP 3a applied and I gave the advice to
reapply it as well. I haven`t heard whether it worked yet.

Thanks again.

For who is interested:
Reapplying SP3a seemingly did the trick. All systems
running smoothely again.
