Default Analysis Services disaster recovery architecture/considerations - 09-17-2009 , 05:21 PM

I'm setting up disaster recovery for an application that uses Analysis
Services and want to run my thoughts by some folks to see if there are any
suggestions or best practices.

I will synchronize or backup at some given time period. But after the
database is in DR and online it now has configurations that point to
production.

The following is a list of the items that I think will need to be fixed
along with the xmla script object to do the fix. Will the Alter Cube xmla
script force any process commands?

1) Data Sources

<Alter>
<Object/>
<ObjectDefinition>
<DataSource/>
</ObjectDefinition>
</Alter>

2) Error Log Configurations

<Alter>
<Object/>
<ObjectDefinition>
<Cube/>
</ObjectDefinition>
</Alter>

3) Report Actions

<Alter>
<Object/>
<ObjectDefinition>
<Cube/>
</ObjectDefinition>
</Alter>
