Is there a developer edition of analysis services that will run on my xp pro
dev box?

I think any version of AS will run on XP, at least I know off the dev and
personal cd's.

So far as I know, to run SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services on Windows XP
Professional, you need SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services Service Pack 1

The simple answer is to install SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition and
Analysis Services. It is the supported distribution for running on Windows
XP. And then you should *ALWAYS* update to SP3.

And don't forget that SP3 of Analysis Services is *not* the same as SQL Server SP3... you have to go to the msolap sub to find the SP3 for AS
