We have been unable to get result set compression working for connections to Analysis Services 2005 that use the HTTP bridge (msmdpump.dll). According to this post: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/Sho...68598&SiteID=1 This appears to be a known problem with Analysis Services itself. Is this actually the case? Also, is there any way to work around it until SP1 is released, say by enabling HTTP compression in IIS (6.0)? I've read some newsgroup posts which would suggest that enabling HTTP compression has a beneficial impact on performance for XML/A traffic, but I'm not sure whether or not the PTS 9 provider supports it. Thanks, Nate Kohari |

A related question: is this fix applied in the March CTP of SP1? We'd like to install it in a test environment so we can estimate the performance of our system across HTTP. Thanks, Nate |
