Hi,

since about a week we have started to experience a problem with regard to
query performance. If we select for instance [Time].[September],
[Time].[October], [Time].[November] on the columns and [Store].[USA],
[Store].[Europe] on rows, use a simple filter and display one non-calculated
measure, the query takes 3 seconds or so. If we add another month to the
columns, the query seems to run forever (I restarted the service after about
an hour...).

I have copied the whole OLAP database to another machine with similar
hardware and the query did run without problems. There are other tasks
running on the machine on which the query seems to hang, but the avarage CPU
usage is about 5%, so I don't think that another processes steals ressources
from the Analysis Server.

Has anybody experienced a similar problem, what kind of background
information would be helpful to track down the problem?
File Fragmentation is not a problem on the system, all files of the database
reside in one fragment. Also, the process does not try to allocate more
memory than it normally would and there is twice the size of the processes
current memory usage available in physical memory.

Any help and suggestions welcome.
