Default Analysis Server 2000 SP3 install Error - 11-29-2003 , 08:04 AM

I have installed Analysis Server on a Windows 2003 Server
successfully. I'm trying to apply SP3a and I'm
encountering the following error "An error has occured
during the data move process: -132". I've re-installed
OLAP several times an received the same results. I also
referenced knowledage base article Microsoft Knowledge
Base Article - 814462. This article refers to a "-145" -
145" error with the same text. I checked my registry
entries and found everything to be in order. Based on
the contents of the article. I've tried to resovle this
for 4 days now and have gotten no where.

Microsoft if your listening it would be real nice to
received some help here. I don't think anyone having
this problem can move forward without your input. I've
re-installed OLAP several times and got the same
results.

I'm trying to move my entire development environment to
Windows 2003 Server. In every case I've encountered
errors with installation and the application of service
packs.

I was able to install Service Pack 3a after reading and
earlier post please see below:

Hi Axel,

The setup program for the service pack will update some
ODBC related files.
Some running services on the same machine that are using
ODBC components
will prevent the setup program to update them.

To work around this problem, stop all services which are
not related to the
Operating System. We have identified some but not limited
to the following
services which might cause the Service Pack setup failed:
IIS, SQL SERVER, TERMINAL SERVICE, SNMP services and all
ANTI VIRUSES

You might change the above services into manual and
reboot machien to make
sure they are stopped completely. Then re-run setup.

HTH,
Bas

.

I don't know which service to stop so I just stopped all
the services I could and ran the service pack again. It
did install. Since this was a "3a" service pack
Microsoft should have fixed this problem but didn't. My
advice is to user the Services Snap-in and stop as many
services as you can and then try to run the service
pack.

Microsoft your help is needed here. Which running
service is causing the problem. Please include a fix to
this in a revised service pack. I wasted a lot of time
chasing this one.
