Default Aggregation Types (Additive or NOT) and Distinct count. - 05-23-2005 , 06:29 AM

I have the following scenario:
A cube with only one measure – “distinct customer count” – aggregate
function for this measure is “Distinct count”
In this cube I have a lot of dimensions and one of them is “Geography”;
For all dimensions (except “Geography”) my measure is NOT additive
measure. A specific customer cannot be in 2 locations at the same time,
so for “Geography” dimension the “distinct customer count” it is an
additive measure.

In order to have the possibility to view filtered by multiple choices
and according with following article
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...y/en-us/dnsql2
k/html/distinct2.asp) I set my “Aggregation usage” of “Geography”
dimension to “Top Level ONLY”.

It doesn’t work like they said in the article.

In fact my issue in related with multiple selection on “Geography”
dimension in this cube.

Thank you in advance

Could you clarify which formulii/techniques you tried to adopt from the
MSDN article, because I don't think it actually uses Measures with a
"Distinct Count" Aggregation Function? In AS 2000, such a measure can't
be dynamically aggregated (though this is possible in AS 2005/Yukon).
