Default Aggregation in Cube - 11-25-2003 , 08:02 AM

Hello,

I just recently started practicing Analysis Services. As per BOL, in the
cube, the aggregations are not stored for the parent child type of dimension
for intermediate levels (except All member and leaf member).

If my cube contains a single parent child dimension and a few regular
dimension, would the aggregates be stored for other regular dimensions where
the parent child dimension member is either all member or leaf member?

I would be thankful for a explanative feedback.

Thanks,

Ajit Singh

Yes. All the aggregates in the cube will be with the p/c dimension at the
all or leaf level. To get a better idea of what aggregates look like you
can use the Partition Aggregation Utility from the BI Accelerator and I'd
recommend the following for more clarification on aggregates.
